Calgary International Hockey Academy鈥檚 U15 Prep squad would already have felt that Friday鈥檚 victory over the Northern Alberta Xtreme was a result worthy of CIHA鈥檚 Christmas听gift but听come Saturday in the second half of their back-to-back, it only got听better and better听for Calgary. Their first forty minutes against NAX saw them outshoot and outscore their opponents in both the first and second periods, holding a 4-2 lead through two. However, NAX鈥檚 clinical powerplay dragged them back into the game. Liam Bordt and Malakai Andrews scored goals five minutes apart to tie the game at four, but once听they鈥檇听tie things up, CIHA听wouldn鈥檛听waste much time in turning the game back in their favour. Defenceman听Hansoul听Kim (1G, 1A) took a pass on the right side of the ice and sent a laser of a wrist shot into the top corner of the net, reestablishing CIHA鈥檚 lead less than 80 seconds after NAX had equalized. Jase Morey (1G, 1A) made it 6-4 with under three minutes to play, enough to see his team over the finish line, leading CIHA to two wins out of the back-to-back with NAX and six straight wins heading into the break.听

OHA Edmonton听(5)听vs Edge School听(1)听U15听

Edge School and OHA Edmonton鈥檚 U15 squads played twice on their final weekend of 2025, and after Friday night, OHA Edmonton hit the ice Saturday motivated to pick up a win. Friday night鈥檚 clash saw OHA Edmonton go down 3-0 to Edge School, score four straight goals to take the lead, and finally allow two goals in 20 seconds at the end of the game to lose 5-4. OHAE鈥檚 game against Edge on Saturday had what they desperately needed on Friday: shutting the door defensively. Brynley Nault got the nod for OHAE in between the pipes and was the busier of the two goaltenders on Sunday, making 12 saves in the first, 13 in the second, and going a perfect 9/9 in the third period. Nault made 34 saves on 35 shots in all, aided by Marek Fetter (1G, 1A), Marek Fetter (1G, 1A)听and Atticus Armstrong (2A) all pitched in with multi-point efforts. OHAE鈥檚 5-1 victory marked the perfect way to bounce back from the Friday night heartbreaker.听

Northern Alberta Xtreme听(3)听vs Calgary International Hockey Academy听(0)听U15听

The Northern Alberta Xtreme鈥檚 U15 squad needed something positive to take into the Christmas break. NAX won seven of their first 10 games to start November, but after back-to-back losses to Edge School to finish out the month,听they鈥檇听enter December in a dreary run of form. Three losses in three days last weekend led to them entering Saturday鈥檚 game with five straight losses under their belt. Goaltender Marek Swanson popped up in a big, big way to help NAX achieve what will feel like an early Christmas present. Swanson had allowed less than four goals just twice since September, reflecting the high-intensity and high-event hockey that NAX鈥檚 U15 squad have been playing. Swanson鈥檚 Saturday was perfect. He made 27 saves on 27 shots over three periods, crucial in what would end up being a low-scoring affair. Asher Simms and Myer Hipkins picked up goals at the beginning of the first and beginning of the second听periods听respectively. Hipkins scored into the empty-net to make it 3-0 late, helping NAX to the win to end听of听December, and helping Swanson over the finish line with a 27-save shutout.听

STAR Hockey Academy听(6)听vs Wenatchee Wild Hockey Academy听(0)听U17 Prep听

STAR Hockey Academy鈥檚 U17 Prep squad have been nothing short of dominant this season, especially of late. Yale beat them 4-1 on November 22, but since then,听they鈥檝e听rattled off six straight wins. STAR bested the Wenatchee Wild 7-1 last Saturday and 7-0 on Friday, a trend that would only continue into Saturday鈥檚 matchup against the same Wenatchee Squad. STAR peppered the Wild net with 61 shots in all, starting the game with a Cam Hoggan (2G, 2A) goal just 55 seconds in. Hoggan听wasn鈥檛听done there, providing a primary assist on the second goal, before scoring and听assisting听again in the second and third periods. Cam Hoggan saw Blaise听Weibye听(1G, 1A), Tommy Ogee (1G, 1A), Adrian听Afrakov听(2A), Hunter Hoggan (2A), and Adam Neilson (2A) pitch in with multi-point efforts of their own. Griffin Fair (23/23) still had a workload himself in the STAR crease, with Fair earning a 23-save shutout. STAR鈥檚 6-0 win was their third straight against Wenatchee and seventh straight overall heading into the winter break.听

Northern Alberta Xtreme听(4)听vs South Alberta Hockey Academy听(2)听U17 Prep听

Brendan Espersen opened the scoring 1:19 in and Eric Schrock doubled the lead 12 minutes later as SAHA held a 2-0 advantage after 20. NAX would听flip听the script from there听as Lincoln Stotz got his team on the board with a power play goal听in the second, a period in which NAX outshot SAHA 13-4. That trend continued in the third as NAX outshot SAHA 16-6 and got even strength goals from Hank Henderson and Reilly Mulloy听(1G, 1A)听56 seconds apart to take the lead. Defenseman Nash Weyland added an empty net goal in the final听minute,听and Lenox Alanen (16/18) finished with 16 saves to secure the NAX victory.听Chase Nielson (32/35) made 32 saves in the loss.听听

BWC Academy听(4/OT)听vs STAR Hockey Academy听(3)听U15 Prep听

The BWC Academy power play clicked in the first as Ryder Bui听(2G, 1A)听and Ethan听Kartadinata听(1G, 1A)听each found the back of the net on William Duffy (35/35) to give their team a 2-0 lead. That lead would hold into the third as Duffy and Jordan Bigelow (19/22) kept clean sheets in the middle frame.听Rhys听Rucintango听would finally breakthrough for STAR 2:07 into the third and a power play goal by听Ryezen听Bertsch听(2G)听2:24 later brought the two team’s level. Rowan Steacy restored the听BWC Academy lead 1:22 later and that lead would hold until the final two minutes when Bertsch scored his second power play goal of the afternoon to send the game to overtime. In OT Bui would score his 15th听of the year 1:31 in as BWC Academy听took home a 4-3 win.听听

St. George鈥檚 School听(1)听vs BWC Academy听(7)听U15听

Alex听Iaichkin听(1G, 2A), Cooper McBride (2G, 1A)听and Mars Zhang (3A) led the way with three points each as BWC Academy beat St. George鈥檚 7-1. Lachlan Beatty (21/22) made 21 saves, allowing the lone goal to Minsoo Lee in the second period. David听Itin听(49/56) faced 56 shots in the loss.听听

BWC Academy听(2)听vs STAR Hockey Academy听(5)听U17听

Seve Paladino听(1G, 2A)听opened the scoring 3:05 in and an Eli Solberg power play goal late in the period put STAR up 2-0.听Kaiden Pound would get BWC Academy on the board 3:03 into the second as he scored on Ry Jeffries (45/47) for his seventh of the season. STAR responded with two late period goals from Deacon Wilson听(3G, 1A)听as they took a comfortable 4-1 lead into the third. Jaidyn Bhandari gave STAR a scare as his seventh of the year came 2:40 into the third period. However, Wilson completed the hat-trick with an empty netter with 1:05 remaining to secure the STAR victory.听听

St. George鈥檚 School听(2)听vs BWC Academy听(4)听U17 Prep听

A 4-2 BWC Academy win saw none of the six goals come at 5-on-5 play as BWC Academy went 3-for-7 on the power play and St. George鈥檚 went 2-for-8.听The first power play goal from BWC Academy came on a great three-way passing play off the rush as Kooper听Kozmeniuk听and Kayden Pratt听(1G, 1A)听teamed up to feed Ryan Fox听(1G, 1A)听for the backdoor tap in.听St. George鈥檚 would reply with a nice passing play of their own as Bradey Ching听(2A)听found Logan Okamura听(1G, 1A)听cross ice, who beat a sliding Blake Langdon (34/36) glove side.听BWC Academy would regain the lead 2:22 into the second as a Fox shot off the rush led to a big rebound that Connor Liu听(1G, 1A)听fired into the empty net. A great individual effort from听Ching led to him finding Zach Lam for a backdoor tap in to tie the game with 5:09 left in the second.听BWC Academy would re-grab the lead heading into the third as Liu took a puck in the corner on the glove side of Joffrey Chan (35/38) and fed a cross-crease pass to Pratt who slammed it home.听SGS would push for a tying goal in the third, but Jaden Brackett secured the BWC Academy victory with an empty net goal.听Both netminders stopped a penalty shot in the contest, with Langdon denying Beck Charlton in the second, and Chan stopping Pratt in the third.听听

BWC Academy听(4)听vs STAR Hockey Academy听(0)听U15 Prep听

Tyson听Oake (23/23) made 23 saves for his second shutout of the season as BWC Academy wrapped up their 2025 with a 4-0 win over STAR. Rory Monahan scored the eventual game winner with 6:01 left in the first, beating Lucas Kautz (21/25) for his fourth of the season. The rest of the scoring came in the second as Wyatt Lowther听(1G, 1A)听scored a power play goal, Theo Falk听(1G, 1A)听scored 34 seconds later, and Kristian Lima听(1G, 1A)听added his 14th听midway through the game to round out the scoring.听听

BWC Academy (6) vs STAR Hockey Academy (2) U17

Graham Gerritz and Daniel Trifunovic (3G) traded goals in the first to send the two teams into the intermission tied at 1-1. Trifunovic gave BWC Academy their first lead 6:58 into the second period with his second straight goal. Kaiden Pound and Max Joseph added goals to close out the period and give their team a 4-1 lead heading into the third. Brody Lukinbill got one back for STAR with a power play goal on Ethan Watson (27/29) just 1:56 into the third. However, Trifunovic was quick to respond as he completed his hat-trick less than two minutes later and Easton Coupland (1G, 1A) scored his 12th of the year 31 seconds after that to secure the 6-2 BWC Academy victory in the last 黑料不打烊 game of 2025. Jacob Gaskell (32/38) faced 38 shots in the loss.
