Both teams went on to trade powerplay goals in the third period, sending the game towards its conclusion deadlocked, but Prairie broke through late. Yesterday saw STAR prevail 8-3, and on Sunday, Adam Neilson (2G, 4A) led the way for STAR with six points, including goals on both the powerplay and the penalty kill in the first half of the game. In St. George’s School and BWC Academy’s U18 Prep clash on Sunday, the first two periods played out in razor-thin fashion. SGS outshot BWC 26-24 through forty minutes and led 3-2, with Louis Oscar Holowaychuk’s pair of goals leading the way. Down by one going into the third period, BWC managed to completely take over the game. BWC outshot St. George’s 21-5 in the third period alone, and after Justin Moon (1G, 1A) tied the game, Ryan Fox scored twice in quick succession to turn the game around. All in all, BWC scored four in the third to ensure a wide margin of victory.Ìý

OHA Edmonton scored four goals in the first period alone on Sunday in their win over Indigenous Sports Academy, including two in 15 seconds to jump out to an early lead. Christopher Peterson scored two more in the first and went on to complete a hat-trick late in the second. Kaedyn Sherer (2G, 1A) added another one, and while ISA scored a couple at the end, OHAE prevailed 7-2.Ìý

Following a 4-2 win on Saturday, the North Shore Warriors’ U15 Prep squad looked to prevail again over STAR Hockey Academy in the second half of their back-to-back. In a hard-fought game, the two teams combined for 50 minutes in penalties and 20 power plays. Both North Shore and STAR scored three powerplay goals apiece, and Cole Mitchell (1G, 3A) scored shorthanded late in the second to give North Shore an advantage going into the third. Another back-and-forth period saw both teams score three more apiece, helping North Shore maintain the lead and close out the win.Ìý

BWC Academy came into Sunday’s U15 Prep game having come off consecutive one-goal victories to kick off November. The clash with RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna saw BWC carry all the momentum built by a pair of dramatic victories and unleash an offensive push against RHAK. BWC and RHAK scored two goals apiece in the first period, but following the break, BWC took over. Kenzo Gibson (5G, 1A) scored five to bring his total to nine goals in his last two games, and his hat-trick by the halfway point of the game extended BWC’s lead beyond what RHAK could make up. Logan Chang (1G, 3A) opened the scoring and provided an assist per period in the 10-4 win.Ìý

Two things in Sunday’s game helped RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg and the Notre Dame Hounds in the U17 Prep division this season, the most important sitting in the RHAW crease. Brady Robert (36/36) was RHAW’s shining star, but his efforts ·É´Ç³Ü±ô»å²Ô’t have made the difference if not for RHAW’s lightning-quick start to the game. Colton Ross (1G, 1A) scored on the power play early before Conner Lamb doubled the lead within the first four minutes of the game. Robert’s shining performance in between the pipes helped his team maintain the lead, earning Robert a shutout in RHAW’s 4-0 win.Ìý

Yale Hockey Academy’s U18 Prep squad have started the season on rocky footing; their only win previous to Sunday was a 6-4 victory over Okanagan Hockey Academy back on October 19. The game didn’t start in Yale’s favour, with Brayden Barker punishing them on the powerplay to give PCHA an early lead. However, prior to the end of the first, Tanner Massey tied things up for Yale. Early in the second, YHA would make good on a powerplay of their own, with Seth Castronuovo’s first goal of the season propelling Yale into the lead. Castronuovo would add another into the empty net, and Jason Ho made 25 saves on 26 shots in the win.Ìý

OHA Edmonton’s U15 team rolled through Prairie Hockey Academy 13-1 on Saturday, meaning the Notre Dame Hounds were staring down the barrel of a difficult opponent. Marek Fetter (1G, 1A) gave OHAE the lead, but minutes later, Creighton Ellis tied the game up for Notre Dame. That was as effective as their comeback efforts would be, as after Jacoby CardinalÌýgaveÌýOHAE their lead back, his teamÌý·É´Ç³Ü±ô»å²Ô’tÌýlook back. Kole Imlay (2G, 1A) extended the lead in the second period, and by the time the final buzzer sounded, OHAE prevailed 9-2.Ìý
