Fort Erie听was听looking to extend their win streak to 4 games against the last team that beat them. As OHA听Mavericks听were听heading in this game with full confidence having beat FEIA less than a month ago. That lead to an even first period where no goals were scored. Then special teams became听a big factor听in this game when Lukas Janek (1G) scored down a man听to open the scoring, answered by Christophe Gagne (1G) to听finish the second period all tied again. Fort Erie doubled听down and scored again to take the lead thanks to George听Tagirov听(1G) on the man advantage.听But听OHA听Mavericks听got听that goal back also on the power play by Nicholas Piette (1G) who finds听the back of the net for the first time this season.听Then came OT where FEIA dominated but OHA听Mavericks听found听a way to get to the shootouts.听Janek, the scorer for OHA听Mavericks听scores the one and only goal in the shootout to give his team the win. Both goalies, in this game, shined with identical performances of 38 saves on 40 shots but that one听save听by Adam Voracek (38/40)听in the shootout is the difference in this one.听听

听Shawnigan Lake School听(3)听vs Delta Hockey Academy Black听(5)听Female U18 Prep听

Both teams looking to bounce back from losses in their last game听but only Delta Black was able to so.听In this tight game Delta Black鈥檚 power play was the difference as听they were听able to score twice on听five听occasions听and Shawnigan听wasn鈥檛听able to score on any of their five听power听plays.听Five different skaters听score,听and听Saysha Brace (29/32) stops 29 shots to earn a big team win to get them back to听an even record on the year (4-4-0-0).听听

RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna听(6)听vs North Shore Warriors听(3)听U18 Prep听听

RHA Kelowna听(9-0-0-0)听came into North Vancouver looking to stay perfect on the season and they did. In this shot fest of 99 shots combined the winning goalie, Asher Netherton听(46/49), put up a 0.939 save percentage. These two teams also combined for 60 penalty minutes. This game got away quick from North Shore as they gave up the听first four goals of the game.听It听wasn鈥檛听the top guys who showed off today for RHA Kelowna as Porter Rossi (1G, 1A) and Jack Brown (1G, 1A) helped their team stay in first place in the division. Not the same can be said about North Shore as their top guy Jack Poole (1G, 1A) scores again in the losing effort.听听

Northern Alberta Xtreme听(7)听vs Edge School听(6)听U15 Prep听听

This duel between two听very good听teams in the U15 Prep division did not disappoint. Right off the bat both teams combined for seven goals in the opening frame.听Highlighted by听Danel Ramazanov (1G, 2A)听as he recorded all his points听in the first 20 to erase the听two-goal听lead听that听Edge听had听after only 8 minutes.听After a quiet second period where only one goal was scored, both teams headed to the final frame tied 4-4.听Where Gavin Van Brabant (1G, 1A) decided to听take over听helping听his team听go ahead 7-4.听However,听Edge hadn鈥檛 given up yet, especially Luke听Bodtker听(2G)听who scored听back-to-back听goals to bring his team within听one,听but the comeback would stop there as听they were听never able to tie the game听even with a 4-point effort by their top point听getter听of the year Brody Antignani (1G, 3A).听听

Notre Dame Hounds听(3)听vs Prairie Hockey Academy听(0)听U17听

Prairie Hockey Academy hosting Notre Dame for their third matchup of the year and second in three days. PHA has won听both听previous听matchup and wanted to keep that trend going, but Hudson Pooler (46/46) and his shutout had other plans.听PHA had seven power play chances, but Pooler and the defence stood tall while Gento Ishiyama (2G)听gets credited with the game winning goal in a two-goal听effort听from听him.听He鈥檚听the only one that was able to get a puck past Kayden Gregoire (29/31) who stops 29 shots听and posts a 0.935 save percentage,听as听the last goal was scored in an empty net.听听听

Calgary International Hockey Academy听(1)听vs Northern Alberta Xtreme听(7)听U15听听

CIHA on a role with 6 straight wins听while听having outscored their last two opponents 17-2听but they听get stood up by the locals.听NAX score seven goals to听overpower their Alberta neighbours. Nothing could stop Myer Hipkins (1G, 2A) who scored听the first goal of the game and added two other assists throughout the next 2 periods. Jesse听Zhu (2A), Cale Royer (1G, 1A)听and Corbin Blatz (1G, 1A)听also听had multi-point games which were听backed up by Jace Hilliard听(29/30) who stopped all but one shot听in this convincing win against a tuff opponent in CIHA.听听听

RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg听(1)听vs Edge School听(3)听U17听

RINK Winnipeg had听a hard task听today as听they were听going on the road to听Kyle Stuart Memorial听Arena听to play听Edge听who were undefeated at home this season.听Edge continued to听shine听on听home ice as the hold RINK Winnipeg to one goal, and only 19 shots.听But Jake Thorsteinson (1G) was able to score his first of the season and DJ听Mecas听(44/47)听stood tall to save 44 shots in this difficult away matchup for their听team.听听

RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna听(2)听vs Yale Hockey Academy听(5)听U15听

Nothing better for Yale听to bounce back听from a loss to the first-place team听than an opponent that they already beat twice听and they did听it again.听RINK Kelowna was not ready for the first 20 minutes as the hungry for victory Yale听Hockey Academy come out swinging in the first with three unanswered goals by Sebastien Sibley听(1G),听Daniel听Valchev听(2G)听and RJ Livingston听(1G). Still RHA Kelowna听didn鈥檛听give听up, they come back in the middle 20 with two goals听of their own by听Blake Andrews (1G) and Harland听Grimsell听(1G).听Despite that effort, Yale, who shot 56 times on Quinn Hooper (52/56) was able to beat RHA Kelowna for a third consecutive time this season.听听

BWC Academy (5/OT) vs Yale Hockey Academy (4) U18 Prep听

BWC Academy鈥檚 efforts at extending their eight-game winning streak needed to get through the Yale Hockey Academy squad, looking to snap back-to-back losses of their own. Through two periods of play, one player on each team had broken through to hit the scoreboard. Dominic Seminoff (2G, 2A) opened the scoring for BWC before Jonathan Bitonti (2G) struck back to tie the game for Yale just short of the break. Come the second, Bitonti scored again for Yale on the powerplay, but less than two and a half minutes later, Seminoff had scored again to square the game at two. If the twists and turns the game took in the first forty minutes were intense, the third period would only get more so. BWC scored a quick pair early in the third period to take what looked like a well-deserved lead. Marching towards the game鈥檚 final four minutes, the two-goal cushion built by BWC proved it wasn鈥檛 as strong as BWC had hoped. Lucas Fenrich popped in with his first goal of the season to pull Yale back within one, and with 45 seconds to go, Holden Sexsmith would turn a shot home from the right circle to pull YHA back to even terms and force overtime. Yale had the first couple of chances in overtime, but Declan Iacoviello (1G, 2A) took the puck end-to-end for BWC to generate the crucial opportunity in overtime. He couldn鈥檛 convert, but Elias Papadatos followed up to cash in on the rebound to win the game in extra time for the Burnaby Winter Club.

Prairie Hockey Academy (7) vs Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (3) U18 Prep听

Prairie Hockey Academy came rolling into Friday鈥檚 U18 Prep clash with Pilot Mound Hockey Academy with three straight wins and only a single loss on the season under their belt. Despite a mixed bag of results on the season so far for Pilot Mound, a shootout win over OHA Edmonton last weekend was an excellent way to start November. PHA forward Lincoln Eaves, a Saskatoon Blades prospect, hadn鈥檛 scored in his seven previous games before finally breaking through against PMHA. His icebreaker in the first period sent Prairie on their way, and by the halfway point of the third period, Prairie had established a four-goal lead they wouldn鈥檛 let slip away. Eaves added another in the third period, with PHA鈥檚 48-15 shots on goal margin an excellent representation of their control of the game as a whole.

RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg (0) vs Prairie Hockey Academy (2) U17 Prep听

In RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg and Prairie Hockey Academy鈥檚 U17 Prep clash on Friday, three Prairie players ultimately lifted them above their RHAW opponent. Kohen Peers (1G, 1A) and Kashton Smith (1G, 1A) each made massive impacts on PHA power plays in the second and third periods, with both players providing the primary assists on each other鈥檚 goals. The pair of Prairie tallies wouldn鈥檛 have been the difference in the hockey game, though, without the play of Luke Ratzlaff in between the pipes. PHA鈥檚 backstop made 34 saves on 34 shots for his third shutout of the season.

RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg (1) vs Northern Alberta Xtreme (4) U18 Prep听

The somewhat sputtering start to the season for RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg鈥檚 U18 Prep squad would be looking towards this weekend in search of some improvement. With games against the Northern Alberta Xtreme and OHA Edmonton this weekend, RHAW were looking down the barrel of a pair of incredibly challenging matchups, so positive performances needed to be a priority, even if the results wouldn’t immediately follow. Their first game, Friday鈥檚 clash with NAX, was far from a disappointing performance. RHAW hit the Northern Alberta net with 28 shots in all and scored a goal through Max Koppel early in the third period. That, unfortunately, was as positive as things would get for RINK Friday. Nolan Wolitski (1G, 1A) had two points, and Ahmad Fayad picked up the game-winner for NAX, all backstopped by Matthew Coyle (27/28) in between the pipes.

Edge School (4) vs South Alberta Hockey Academy (0) U18 Prep听

Edge School鈥檚 win last Saturday against the Northern Alberta Xtreme was something of a statement. Following a 1-0 overtime loss to NAX the night prior, Edge School showed up to play, thumping one of the division鈥檚 best 8-1. They continued that wave of momentum into a game Friday against the Southern Alberta Hockey Academy. Carsten Leyerzapf made 26 saves on 26 shots for Edge School in the game, setting the stage for his skaters to do the rest. Ashton McCann (1G, 1A) and Eric Wagman (1G, 1A) notched two points apiece, with Luke Huska and Antonio Cazac adding goals in Edge School鈥檚 4-0 win.

RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna (4) vs Coeur d’Alene Hockey Academy (3) U17 Prep听

RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna鈥檚 last blemish came at the hands of Yale Hockey Academy back on October 18, with that loss the only one this season. Coeur d’Alene Hockey Academy鈥檚 U17 Prep squad鈥檚 season has been a mixed bag of results overall, and Friday against RHAK, they delivered a performance to be proud of. Unfortunately for them, so did RINK. CDA fought back consistently throughout the contest, but after Jack Leslie (2G, 1A) scored the lone first-period goal for RHAK, their lead would only grow from there. CDA鈥檚 Eli Bonilla (1G, 1A) picked up two points in the third in the comeback effort, but the power-play marker from Leslie in the third period ended the winner for RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna to narrowly edge CDA.
