Ulysse Academie lost their opening game to Stanstead College, but since then,Ìýthey’veÌýbeen unplayable. CIH Academy won all four of theirÌýpreviousÌýgames as well, and at two different points,Ìýthey’dÌýbroken a tie to take the lead over Ulysse Academie. Every time they went down, though, Ulysse fought back, quickly tying the game.ÌýSpecifically,Ìýthe second time CIH had taken a lead, Ulysse had tied things up within 30 seconds, sending the game into the third period deadlocked. An evenly-fought twenty minutes yielded nothing, but come overtime, Ulysse broke through. Eliott Guevin grabbed the puck in the neutral zone and skated north to generate a two-on-one opportunity. Guevin held, shot, and scored to give Ulysse the victory in the extra frame.Ìý

Delta Hockey Academy survived a heavyweight battle with Edge School on Friday, prevailing from the clash with a 5-3 win. The Northern Alberta Xtreme, likewise, played against another one of the top teams in the U15 Prep division on Friday, beating Yale Hockey Academy 5-4. While yesterday for both teams were games in which the superior offences prevailed, Saturday was a low-scoring clash that leaned more on the quality of the goaltending and defence. Only two goals found the back of the net during the game, with Jett Evans and Colby Walker trading goals in the first and second periods. Delta outshot NAX 40-25 in the game butÌýcouldn’tÌýbreak through, and come the shootout, only one goal found the back of the net. Jace Zemanek (24/25) kept out all three NAX shooters and Eli Vickers’ goal won it for Delta.ÌýÌý

RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg and OHA Edmonton play three games in three days this weekend, and following OHA Edmonton’s victory on Friday, RHAW were determined toÌýbouncebackÌýwith a win. Through two periods, it looked very possible that RHAW could best OHAE, especially after RINK heavily outshot their opponents in the second period. OHAE led 3-2 through two, but come the third period, OHAE’s offence blew things open. Miles Hartmann notched an assist before a beautiful shorthanded goal finished his hat-trick. While the score ended 7-3 in OHAE’s favour, RHAW never ceased their attempts at a comeback. Dysen Loewen in the OHAE crease made 38 stops on 41 shots, making 17 on 18 in the second period alone to keep OHAE in front while RHAW were pouring on the pressure.Ìý

Cole Dobson and Jordan Anastasiadis (2G) scored back-to-back goals for RHA Kelowna as the team got off to a fast start. Jack Adsit would get STAR on the board late in the period, beating Beau Keller-Blaschuk (26/28) for his second goal of the season. Anastasiadis would score the lone second period goal to double the RHA Kelowna lead heading into the final frame. Seve Paladino would give STAR early third period life as he found the back of the net two minutes into the period. But Beckham Monette (1G, 1A) replied for RHA Kelowna 5:14 later, firing his third of the season past Jacob Gaskell (58/62) to secure the win.
