The early morning U15 clash between Calgary International Hockey Academy and RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg was a game played in RHAW’s control through the first forty minutes, more than doubling CIHA’s shots through forty. RHAW outshot CIHA 22-6 in the first and 21-9 in the second, with the goal storing following their offensive domination. CIHA’s chance largely came on the powerplay, but at five on five, it was all RHAW, with four different goal scorers including Brantley Church now extending his point streak to seven games. Brock Labelle, likewise, extended a point streak, with Labelle now having picked up points in every single one of RHAW’s 21 games this season. CIHA pushed in the third period and got another powerplay goal, their second, but all they could muster in the eventual 4-2 lossÌý

Losses to Edge School in aÌýshootoutÌýand to Yale Hockey Academy at the end sullied an otherwise stellar November for Delta Hockey Academy White in the U15 division. As part of the 5-1-1 month, Delta White bested Coeur d’Alene Hockey AcademyÌý5-4, with Saturday being CDA’s chance at some redemption. The visitors would have a familiar face pop up early, withÌýJagger Clark’s thirty-second goal of the U15 season putting them in front. They’d see Delta tie the game up, but ultimately, TJ Podollan (1G, 1A) notched a goal and an assist following that for CDA. Podollan’s two points brings him to 56 on the season already, with his goal giving CDA a 3-1 cushion early in the third period. Delta White would pushÌýand snatch a goal back,Ìýbut ultimately, thatÌýwas inÌývein, as CDA took a win out of the first of the two team’s back-to-back clashes.ÌýÌý

North Shore Warriors (1) vs Shawnigan Lake School (6) U17 PrepÌýÌý

The U17 Prep division’s North Shore WarriorsÌýhaven’tÌýhad a lot of positives so far this season. The search for their first win of the season soldiered on into Saturday and a matchup with Shawnigan Lake School, a team who North Shore hadn’t yet seen. The effort towards their first win of the season started in a positive way for North Shore, with Ryan Frick’s shorthanded tally the only goal of the first period. In the second, however, Shawnigan hit back, with two from Matthew Steele in less than two and a half minutes spinning the game in SLS’ favour. The third period further solidified Shawnigan’s victory, with three more in two early minutes extending the lead to 5-1, and Terran Johal made it 6-1 later on to further put an exclamationÌýpointÌýon Shawnigan’s win.ÌýÌý

Bourget CollegeÌý(5)Ìývs Selwyn House SchoolÌý(7)ÌýEast U17 PrepÌýÌý

Bourget College and Selwyn House School’s contest in the Eastern U17 Prep division started in Bourget’s favour, with the first twenty minutes belonging to BCS. Xavier Hamel for Bourget and Michael Paliotti for Selwyn first traded powerplay goals, but Liam Dubreuil scored late in the period to send his team into the break withÌýthe lead. Come the second, Selwyn snatched two in less than 90 seconds to spin the lead back in their favour. However, 17 seconds later, Liam Croteau (2G, 1A) tied the game for Bourget with his first goal of the season. The third period saw the same back-and-forth actionÌýshowcasedÌýin the first forty minutes; 25 seconds in, Liam Croteau scoredÌýagain to give Bourget the lead. Tyler Pita for Selwyn responded in kind with his first of the season, sending the game towards its conclusion tied 4-4. With less than four minutes to play, Bourget hit the front with a Jayden Osborne goal they might have thought the winner, but with under 40 seconds to play, Selwyn changed everything. Michael Paliotti (3G, 1A) tied the game with an extra attacker out there for Selwyn, before Paliotti wouldÌýimmediatelyÌýgo back to work, scoring with 21 seconds left to quickly turn around a deficit into a late 6-5 lead, and an empty netter sealed a crazy 7-5 Selwyn House School win.Ìý

Prairie Hockey Academy’s U17 Prep squad would have felt confident rolling into Saturday’s game, with back-to-backÌývictories against RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg to begin the month giving PHA six wins in their last seven games. PMHA had last won in the ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ back on October 19, coming in on an unfortunate run of five straight defeats. 44 seconds into the second period, Pilot Mound hit the ground running through Maddox Ramage, and whileÌýthey’dÌýhave his goal responded to, Ramage went on to score again in the second period to give PMHA a 2-1 lead through two. Nixon Friesen tipped the puck home at the start of the third period to eventually force overtime, and after aÌýsomewhat stagnantÌýfinal frame, Prairie struck at the best possible moment. Ramsey Thompson picked up theÌýpuck in the offensive zone, wheeled into the middle of the ice, and from the high slot unleashed a bomb past the PMHA goaltender, with Thompson’s goal coming with just two seconds left in overtime to guide PHA to victory.Ìý

Delta Hockey Academy’s U17 squad beat Coeur d’Alene Hockey Academy twice in an October that saw them win all five of their games, a record reversed the following month of November, in which Delta lost all four of their games. CDA’s weekend foray north puts them up against Delta Saturday and Sunday, and in the first of the twoÌýteam’sÌýback-to-back started in CDA’s favour. A usual suspect in Logan Madrid struck, his thirteenth of the season, just 17 seconds into the first to send CDA forward with the lead. Delta responded, though, come the second, doing so in quick-fire fashion early in the period.ÌýGraeme BurkeÌý(2G)Ìýpicked up his third goal over the last four games to tie it before AdamÌýPiliotisÌýgave Delta the lead less than two and a half minutes later. At the tail end of the second, Cole VanÌýOeneÌýwould roof a backhander to restore Shawnigan’s lead before the ice clean. Cooper McBride added his 13thÌýof the season 2:12 into the third as BWC Academy continued to run away on the scoreboard. Tate Davis finally broke through for PCHA 1:21 later, ending the William Houle (17/18) shutout bid early in the third. Both teams fired 29 shots on net as Griffin Fair (29/29) bested Eliott Horner (23/29) in a 6-0 shutout win for STAR. Kyler BushÌý(1G, 1A)Ìý scored the eventual game winner 8:11 into the first while on the power play. Zakhar KovalenkoÌý(1G, 1A)Ìý added an even strength marker late in the period to double the lead. Tyler Gillespie and Sean McIntyre added even strength goals in the second while Braden Payne and Adrian Afrakov did the same in the third to round out the scoring.Ìý

An unassisted goal by Seth Castronuovo (2G, 1A)Ìý gave Yale a 1-0 lead 9:09 into the game. Justin Moon (2G) evened the score five minutes later with a power play marker. BWC Academy would grab their first lead of the game 4:35 into the second as Mark LeeÌý(1G, 1A)Ìý scored his teams second power play marker of the evening. Alex OstrovskyyÌý(1G, 1A)Ìý tied the game midway through the frame but goals from Otto Spofforth and Charlie Robinson (2G) 54 seconds apart late in the period same BWC Academy grab a two goal lead heading into the final 20. Robinson extended the lead 7:34 into the third though Castronuovo was quick to respond for Yale, doing so 34 seconds later. However, that was as close as Yale would get as Moon added a late empty netter and Josh Wu (32/35) made 32 saves to record his sixth win of the season.Ìý

Mack Host (2G, 1A)Ìý and Lance BryantÌý(1G, 1A)Ìý scored first period goals as OHA grabbed a 2-0 lead into the intermission. Sawyer Shepard (2G, 1A)Ìý cut into the lead 2:29 into the second, hitting double digit goals on the season. Host added his second of the game midway through the period to restore the two goal gap but Talen Lindsay responded for North Shore to close out the period. Reece VerrierÌý(1G, 1A)Ìý gave OHA some breathing room 1:22 into the third but goals from Max Darlow (1G, 2A)Ìý and Shepard 28 seconds apart brought the two teams even. The two teams looked headed for overtime until Max Chen (2G) took a Lukas Pandachuck pass in the slot and buried a backhand past Ayaan Rao (49/55) with 11.2 seconds remaining to put OHA ahead 5-4. Off the ensuing faceoff, North Shore would pull their goalie but not send out enough players, leaving Chen to skate in all alone on an empty net breakaway and secure the OHA win. Linden Hartford (36/40) made 36 saves to earn the win.
