Special teams were the name of the game early as Nolan Harding听(1G, 1A)听and Teagen Bouchard听(2G)听traded power play goals inside the first six minutes of play. Max Schutz听(1G, 2A)听restored the Pilot Mound lead midway through the first with a power play goal and Hector听Kapitonov听(1G, 1A)听doubled the lead with a听power听play marker of his own early in the second.听Thayne听Wasyluk听(1G, 1A)听scored the first even strength goal of the game midway through the second to bring NAX within one. Collin Friedrich听(2G)听countered for PMHA with Knox Burton adding another power play marker 1:12 later to increase the lead. Special teams听continued听to听be a factor in the third as Friedrich scored a shorthanded, empty net goal with 4:50 remaining to secure the Pilot Mound victory.听Bouchard would add a power play goal in the final minute for NAX to round out the scoring. Adam Courchesne (40/43) made 40 saves for the win.听听

Prairie Hockey Academy听(2)听vs South Alberta Hockey Academy听(4)听U18 Prep听

Each team capitalized on the power play in the first as Seamus Dillon听(2G)听scored for Prairie and Kingston Chisholm countered for SAHA.听Dillon would restore the Prairie lead as he beat Cash Christie (30/32) 6:01 into the second for his second of the game.听Another SAHA power play goal, this time by Dylan Sherban听(1G, 1A), brought the game level heading into the third period. In the final period each team would fire 10 shots on net, but SAHA would make the most of their chances, continuing to rely on their special teams.听Ty听Wasyluk听gave SAHA their first lead of the game when he scored a shorthanded goal on Drake Mooney (31/35) 4:24 into the third and Damen Vanderberg doubled the lead with another power play marker with 4:46 remaining.听SAHA would hold听on听the rest of the way to claim a 4-2 victory in a game in which they听didn鈥檛听score 5-on-5.听听

Kuper Academy听(5)听vs Lower Canada College听(4)听East U17 Prep听

Angelo Jr Colletti听(1G, 2A)听opened the scoring with his 17th听6:11 in and Alessio Servello听(2G, 1A)听doubled the Kuper lead 6 minutes later. Harry Miller听(2G)听would get LCC on the board with 4:59 left in the first but Servello was quick to respond for Kuper, doing so 34 seconds later. Jeremy Riccardi鈥檚 first of the season late in the period would bring Lower Canada College back within one heading into the second. Michael Raposo scored the lone second period goal to restore the听two-goal cushion heading into the final 20. Massimo Guerrera extended the Kuper advantage 9:39 into the third with his eighth of the season. Miller would counter for LCC 15 seconds later and Alessandro听Golemme鈥檚听first of the season less than three minutes later made it a one goal game with 7:41 remaining. Matteo Valluzzi (48/52) would听ultimately shut听the door the rest of the way as Kuper held on for the 5-4 victory. Alessandro Sforza (38/43) was in net for LCC in the loss.听听

Prairie Hockey Academy听(6)听vs RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg听(2)听U17 Prep听

Nixon Friesen听(2G, 1A)听opened the scoring 12:57 in to give the visitors a 1-0 lead. Affiliate player听Grayson Speirs quickly tied the game 1:05 later听with his first at the U17 Prep level. Luke Pratte and Ramsey Thompson would score 15 seconds apart听late in the opening period to give Prairie a 3-1 lead heading into the second. Bryden Wagner scored the lone second period goal, on the power play, to extend the Prairie听lead听to 4-1.听Conner Lamb would cut into the deficit 3:21 into the third as RHA Winnipeg looked to mount a comeback.听That comeback would fall short as Prairie outshot RHA Winnipeg 15-9 in the third and got a shorthanded goal from Friesen and an even strength goal from Owen Grassick听(1G, 1A)听to claim a 6-2 win. Luke Ratzlaff (29/31) would make 29 saves for the win while Miller Fettes (36/42)听was charged with the loss.听听

OHA Edmonton听(6)听vs Calgary International Hockey Academy听(7/OT)听U15听

Mick Mantrop听(1G, 2A)听and Damon Chinski听(2G)听traded first period goals as the two teams entered the intermission even at 1-1. Rhett Davis听(2G, 1A), Hudson Bennefield and Carter Clark听(1G, 2A)听all scored goals inside the opening 10 minutes of the second to put CIHA ahead 4-1. Kingston Ireland听(1G, 2A)听would get one back for OHA Edmonton with 5:54听remaining听in the frame.听Finn Sewall would open the third period scoring though Niko听Vujanic听(1G, 3A)听replied for OHA Edmonton 1:09 later. Lucas Beaudin听(1G, 3A)听quickly countered for CIHA 1:10 after that as OHA Edmonton struggled to gain any traction. That would change with 9:40听remaining听as听defenseman听Ben Miller听(2G, 1A)听scored his first of the game before adding his second with 1:57 left to play. Chinski would then score with 39 seconds听remaining听to tie the game and send the two teams to overtime.听The home side would avoid the collapse as Davis scored his 12th听of the season midway through the extra frame to give CIHA a 7-6 win. Mason听Filichuk听(29/35) and Brynley Nault (36/43) were in net for their respective teams.听听

Bishop鈥檚 College School听(5)听vs Ulysse Academie听(4)听East U18 Prep听

Bishop鈥檚听came out strong as Dominic Schnarr, Taitt Dobbin听(1G, 2A)听and Brandon听Fuicelli听(1G, 1A)听all scored as part of an opening period that saw them outshoot Ulysse 17-8. The two听teams would play a more even second as Liam听Dassylva听and Maddox Guerin听(2G, 2A)听scored for Ulysse, while Maddox Sebastian countered for Bishop鈥檚.听Alex Graveline and Liam Boisclair听(1G, 2A)听traded power play goals early in the third as it听remained听a two-goal cushion for Bishop鈥檚.听A late Guerin goal would bring Ulysse within one but with just one second left on the clock it was a consolation goal in a 5-4 Bishop鈥檚 win. Emerson Tebay (32/36) and Benjamin Pilon (35/40) were in net for their听respective听teams.听听

Indigenous Sports Academy听(4)听vs Notre Dame Hounds听(5)听U17 Prep听

Alexander Krylov (1G, 1A) and Ryder Fiddler traded goals as the two teams headed into the break tied 1-1. Added to the roster this week, Andrej Kridl scored his first of the season to give Notre Dame the lead 2:50 into the second. Lawson Gardipy evened the scored a few minutes later before a Reg Huebner (2G) power play marker put Notre Dame back in front going into the third. Seth Baptiste (1G, 1A) would tie the game with his eighth of the year 18 seconds into the third period. Joe Wakabayashi put Notre Dame ahead once again with the teams second power play goal of the game. Owen Sinclair (1G, 2A) evened the score with 1:59 and it looked as though the two teams would head to overtime but another Huebner power play, this time with 11 seconds remaining, gave Notre Dame the 5-4 victory. Trent Probst (33/37) and Grayson Girling (41/46) were in net for their respective teams.听

Prairie Hockey Academy (5) vs RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg (1) U17 Prep听

After beating RHA Winnipeg 6-2 yesterday, Prairie would once again beat the home side by four goals as they finished off Thursday night with a 5-1 win. After a scoreless first period, Prairie would score four in the second including a power play marker and shorthanded tally. Owen Grassick scored the lone even strength goal of the period before Hudson Pineda and Kohen Peers (1G, 1A) added power play markers. Nixon Friesen would close out the second with the shorthanded marker, his fifth goal of the season. Markus Knaub ended the Kaidyn Thomas (29/30) shutout bid with 15:01 left in the third period, though Cormac Riley countered just 19 seconds later, beating Brady Robert (46/51) for his first of the season.听
