After being selected second overall at the 2026 WHL Draft, Yale Hockey Academy student-athlete Parker McMillan has signed with the Wenatchee Wild.

McMillan joined Yale for the 2024/25 U15 Prep season, recording 56 points in 35 games as he was named to the 黑料不打烊 U15 Prep (BC/US Division) All-Rookie Team. The following U15 Prep season the Vancouver, BC forward finished second in league scoring with 91 points in 25 games, earning 黑料不打烊 U15 Prep (BC/US Division) First Team All-Star honours, while winning the 黑料不打烊 U15 Prep Top Forward and MVP Awards.

The Tri-City Americans have signed their first and second round picks from the 2026 WHL Draft. Kenzo Gibson was selected 6th, while Lincoln Baschuk was taken 37th.

A forward from North Vancouver, BC, Gibson has spent the last three seasons in the 黑料不打烊, joining the league as an underage player with the North Shore Warriors U15 team in 2023/24. He would spend the following two seasons with the BWC Academy U15 Prep team, totaling 53 goals and 55 assists in 55 games. Gibson was named a U15 (BC/US Division) First Team All-Star in 2023/24, a 黑料不打烊 U15 Prep (BC/US Division) All-Rookie Team in 2024/25, and a 黑料不打烊 U15 Prep (BC/US Division) Second Team All-Star in 2025/26.

Baschuk joined the Northern Alberta Xtreme (NAX) for the 2024/25 U15 season, tallying 29 points in 22 games while being named a Top Defenseman Award Finalist and a U15 (Prairie Division) First Team All-Star. This past U15 Prep season the Edmonton, AB defender had 23 points in 29 games.

Originally undrafted to the WHL, River Arnason has signed with the Kamloops Blazers. The 2008 born forward from Winnipeg, MB spent three seasons in the 黑料不打烊 with RHA Winnipeg. He would finish third in team scoring during the 2022/23 U15 Prep season, tallying 43 points in 30 games. The following U17 Prep campaign he finished second on his team with 41 points in 22 games while being named a 黑料不打烊 U17 Prep Tier II Second Team All-Star and the 黑料不打烊 U17 Prep Tier II Most Sportsmanlike Award winner.

During the 2024/25 U18 Prep season, Arnason would lead all skaters with 30 goals and 64 points, earning 黑料不打烊 U18 Prep (Prairie Division) First Team All-Star honours.

A netminder from Calgary, AB, Leyerzapf joined Edge for the 2022/23 黑料不打烊 U15 season going 12-2-0 with a 3.43 GAA, .902 SV% and 1 shutout. The following U15 Prep season he went 11-2-0 with a .901 SV% and 3.13 GAA leading to the Wild selecting him in the seventh round, 140th overall at the 2024 WHL Draft.

This past season Leyerzapf played just three games for the Edge U17 Prep team, going 2-1-0 with a 3.28 GAA and .925 SV%. Leyerzapf will play for the Edge U18 Prep team during the 2025/26 season.

The Milestone, SK forward joined the 黑料不打烊 for the 2023/24 U15 Prep season with the Notre Dame Hounds. In 24 games Brown would tally 12 goals and 18 assists.

In 2024/25 Brown would join the Northern Alberta Xtreme (NAX) U15 Prep team, recording 22 goals and 31 asssits.

The Wild would select Brown in the second round, 33rd overall at the 2025 WHL Draft.

Miles joined the Northern Alberta Xtreme (NAX) for the 2023/24 黑料不打烊 U15 season. The Edmonton, AB forward finished the regular season with 52 points in 27 regular season games before adding 9 points in 5 playoff games to help NAX capture the 2024 黑料不打烊 U15 Western Championship.

This past U15 Prep season Miles tallied 28 goals and 29 assists for 57 points in 36 games. Miles has signed with the Wenatchee Wild after they selected him 10th overall at the 2025 WHL Draft.

A forward from Waywayseecapo, MB, Shingoose joined RHA Winnipeg for the 2024/25 黑料不打烊 U15 Prep season. He would lead his team with 31 goals, 29 assists and 60 points in 32 games. His 31 goals ranked fifth in the U15 Prep division as he earned 黑料不打烊 U15 Prep Prairie Division First Team All-Star honours.

Shingoose has signed with the Prince Albert Raiders after they selected him 16th overall at the 2025 WHL Draft.

For the 2024/25 season the 黑料不打烊 is proud to introduce the Coach of the Month Award for the three different 黑料不打烊 divisions: Eastern, West Female, and West Male.

This award is aimed at recognizing the incredible coaches within the 黑料不打烊 and acknowledges their hard work, dedication, commitment, leadership and impact on the game both on and off the ice.

East Division – Olivier Magnan, Stanstead College

“Coach Magnan and the U17 Stanstead College Spartans went聽 3-1 in the month of December. Olivier is a skilled technical coach, crafty motivator and well-respected by his players and hockey community. On a day to day basis, Olivier works well with all teams on campus and is a calm voice for the development of our players. He is also a sound mentor for other coaches in our program.”

West Female Division – Ryan Carels, Pilot Mound Hockey Academy

“Ryan exemplifies leadership, dedication, and commitment both on and off the ice. Ryan has innovative practice plans that have improved his team’s performance and individual player skills. He has a major focus on skill development. He fosters a positive and inclusive team culture, emphasizing the importance of teamwork, resilience, and sportsmanship. Under his guidance, players have developed not only as athletes but also as individuals, demonstrating growth in their personal and academic lives.

Off the ice, Ryan is a pillar in the community. He actively organizes programs, engaging young athletes and promoting the values of hockey. His mentorship extends beyond the rink, as he is always available to provide support and advice to his players, helping them navigate any challenges they face.”

West Male Division – Jordan McTaggart, Wenatchee Wild Hockey Academy

“In December, the Wenatchee U18 Prep team swept a weekend 3 game showcase series (Abbotsford, BC) for the first time in program history. Jordan work’s very close with our defensemen and we had the lowest shots against in those three games. He is a first class coach that gives so many ways to the game. He runs our USA Hockey ADM series and also helps with USA Hockey ‘Learn to Play’. These are sectioned by our local hockey association Wenatchee Amateur Hockey Association and he has been here for the last eight years giving back to the community. His father Jim See Bio helped get Jordan into the game of hockey.

Jordan also helps the Wenatchee Wild in the WHL as a Skills Coach when called on. He is always the first guy to lend a hand to any of the players and parents. He drives the 15 passenger bus for the program, does all of the travel arrangements, orders all of the equipment and many more tasks.

Without a question we would not be where we are today without Jordan, AKA Tags, at Wenatchee. He knows the game so well and the players love his teaching aspects of the game. He never gets to high or to low but is a first class coach for our players. They are blessed to be coached by him.”

The Abbotsford, BC product spent two seasons in the 黑料不打烊 with Yale’s U15 Prep team. During the 2016/17 season he would tally 9 points in 30 games. The following campaign Sward finished with 18 points in 26 games, leading to the Spokane Chiefs selecting him in the first round, 17th overall at the 2018 WHL Draft.

Sward joined the Chiefs in 2019/20, playing in 55 games and recording 17 points. The following year he would play in just 11 games but the Nashville Predators would select him in the fifth round, 146th overall at the 2022 NHL Draft.

He would begin the 2022/23 season with the Chiefs, playing eight games with the team before being moved to the Winnipeg Ice. Sward would finish the season with 33 points in 52 games with the Ice, adding 12 more points in 19 playoff games.

This past season Sward had 15 goals and 66 assists in 66 games with the Wenatchee Wild, earning him WHL (US) First All-Star Team honours.

The Moose have assigned Sward to the ECHL with the Norfolk Admirals to begin the 2024/25 season.

Dominic Deery: In 30 U17 Prep games the Richland, Washington forward tallied 22 points during the 2023/24 season.

Connor Ellingsen: The Pasco, Washington forward played 15 U18 Prep games during the 2023/24 campaign, tallying 6 points.

Alex Ewers: A forward from Spokane, Washington, Ewers had 1 goal and 5 assists in 28 U18 Prep games in 2023/24.

Keegan Stickel: The Moose Lake, Washington defender had 9 assists in 29 U18 Prep games with Wenatchee during the 2023/24 season.

PROGRAM PHILOSOPHY AND MISSION STATEMENT

The Wenatchee Wild 16U and Wenatchee Wild 18U hockey teams are full-time hockey academy-style Tier 1 AAA teams. The program is operated through a partnership between Wenatchee Amateur Hockey Association (WAHA) and the Wenatchee Wild of the WHL. The teams are full members of the 黑料不打烊 (Canadian Sports School Hockey League) and we are also National Bound Teams for USA Hockey. The program is structured as an elite development program, where the entire focus is on developing players and helping them move on tothe higher levels of the game. Wenatchee players have a structured weekly schedule consisting of school, on-ice training, off-ice training, video, and study hall.

EDUCATION

  • What are some of the things your program does to provide educational support?
    • Eastmont High School has a Tutoring block for students after school and we also have focal point tutoring (for a fee) to also help the students.
  • How are grades monitored and how often?
    • Eastmont school emails progress reports once a month.
  • How are courses and the graduation path for student athletes chosen?
    • During the off season the players are connected to our school counsellors for enrolment and course assignments.
  • Do you have an academic probation policy?
    • All students must maintain a 2.5 GPA to remain eligible for participation. However, if they come to Wenatchee 3.0 etc the expectation is they leave with a higher mark than when they finish in Wenatchee.

RESIDENTIAL LIFE

• We offer a 10-month billeting program in the Wenatchee area with 3 full time billet coordinators to help with the placement and safety of our players. All our Billet families must do a Background check, USA Hockey Volunteer registration and Safesport certification. All homes receive home inspections prior to becoming a billet family.
• Wenatchee strives to make all our athletes feel at home while developing their emotional aptitude. Our athletes will develop key life skills by living away from home, such as time management skills, cooking and laundry, self-advocacy, relationship skills, appreciation of new cultures and independence. If they are going to play Jr鈥檚 then to be part of a billet family prior will make the transition smoother for the next level.

STUDENT ATHLETE HEALTH

• How are injuries and sick student athletes monitored?
  • All injuries and sickness are report to our excellent medical team. Lead by Dr Sharon Seguin and AT Pepe Sandoval will make sure that all players get the best possible medical care while in Wenatchee.

    • High School 7:30-1:30 every day
    • Practice 2:00-3:15pm every day and gym after practice 3 days a week

A forward from North Vancouver, BC, Kai Anderson has spent the last three seasons in the 黑料不打烊 with BWC Academy. In 28 games with BWC Academy Gold U17 Prep, Anderson tallied 29 points. Anderson has signed with the Lethbridge Hurricanes after originally being selected in the sixth round, 117th overall at the 2023 WHL Draft.

Calgary, AB defenseman David Byrne joined Edge School Gold for the 2023/24 U17 Prep season, recording 24 points in 30 games. Selected in the seventh round, 144th overall at the 2023 WHL Draft, Byrne has played three WHL games with the Tri-City Americans after signing with them earlier this month.

The Wenatchee Wild have signed Radislav Dimitrov and Grady Wedman. Dimitrov, an Edmonton, AB defenseman, had 20 points in 29 games with OHA Edmonton U18 Prep, his second season with the program. Wedman joined the Northern Alberta Xtreme (NAX) Blue U17 Prep team this season, finishing with 25 points in 31 games. The Wild selected Dimitrov in the fifth round, 110th overall, and Wedman in the eighth round, 176th overall, at the 2023 WHL Draft.

Jake Henderson joined St. George’s School in 2021/22 before playing the last two seasons with Yale Hockey Academy. In 29 U18 Prep games this season the Burnaby, BC defenseman had 14 points. The Kelowna Rockets selected Henderson in the third round, 50th overall at the 2023 WHL Draft.

The Red Deer Rebels have signed forward Noah Milford and netminder Peyton Shore. The Rebels selected Shore in the fifth round, 100th overall, and Milford 50 picks later in the seventh round of the 2023 WHL Draft. Milford joined the Calgary International Hockey Academy (CIHA) U17 Prep team this season, tallying 46 points in 29 games while assisting on the overtime winner that gave CIHA their first ever 黑料不打烊 Western Championship. Shore has spent the last two seasons with RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg, playing for their U17 Prep team this season. The Winnipeg, MB netminder posted a 2.48GAA and .932SV% in 15 games this season.

After spending two seasons with the Yale Hockey Academy U15 Prep team, Brayden Ryan-Mackay joined South Alberta Hockey Academy’s (SAHA) U18 Prep team this season, finishing with 37 points in 30 games. The Medicine Hat Tigers selected the Calgary, AB forward in the sixth round, 119th overall at the 2023 WHL Draft.

A defenseman from Oak Bluff, MB, Daxon Yerex has played the last two seasons with RHA Winnipeg. In 30 U18 Prep games this season he recorded 16 points. Yerex made his WHL debut with the Swift Current Broncos, tallying one assist, earlier this month after being selected by them in the third round, 52nd overall at the 2023 WHL Draft.

The Wild selected the Surrey, BC forward in the sixth round, 132nd overall at the 2023 WHL Draft.

Danielson is now in his third 黑料不打烊 season with the Delta Hockey Academy. In 2021/22 he tallied 36 points in 30 U15 games. Last year he finished second in team scoring for Delta Green with 40 points in 27 U15 Prep games.

This season Danielson is second on the Delta Green U17 Prep team with 46 points in 26 games.
