Tyson joined the 黑料不打烊 in 2013 and served as the Director of Media and Communications until he sadly passed away in August 2020. To honour Tyson鈥檚 passion for and contributions to the game of hockey, his family and the 黑料不打烊 community came together to offer families the ability to have their child (aged 7-14) attend a summer hockey camp of their choice. The Tyson Giuriato Hockey Camp Scholarship makes this possible by awarding six families $600 each to send their child to a hockey camp of their choice.

9-year-old Juliette is a U11 full-time goalie currently playing for the Bow Valley Hockey Society in Calgary, AB. She began playing goalie as her two older brothers play the position as well.

Juliette would like to attend a camp at Goalie Development Inc. (GDI) this summer in Calgary. She is eager to participate in this camp so she can continue building on her foundational skills and progress to the next level of her development.

Juliette hopes to continue playing on boys鈥� teams for as long as possible, then would love to move into the Calgary Fire Elite Female League before ultimately pursuing her dream of playing in the Professional Women鈥檚 Hockey League, as well as representing Canada at the Olympic Games.

Juliette is a very passionate, hard-working, and dedicated goalie. She earned multiple Player of the Game awards this season and had a standout performance with a big win at the ESSO Minor Hockey Week. Juliette is also vice president of her class and demonstrates strong leadership both in school and on the ice.

Outside of hockey, Juliette鈥檚 passions include playing soccer, fishing, and golfing and cooking with mom. She also loves traveling to the beach and spending time playing with her friends.

I hope more girls will try hockey because it鈥檚 so much fun, you make amazing friends, and it teaches you to work hard and to never give up. A 12-year-old from Maple Ridge, BC, Westin has been playing hockey since he was 5 years old. Westin has been playing rep hockey with Ridge Meadows. Playing A2 his first year, and A1 the past three years. He was named assistant captain for two of those seasons, which taught him a lot about leadership, teamwork, and supporting my teammates. Outside of hockey, he enjoys working out, spending time with my dog Winnie, fishing, and hanging out with my friends.

Westin will attend the 鈥楩ree Agents Camp鈥�, in Pitt Meadows, BC, August 17-27, 2026.

Annabelle is a seven-year-old who just completed her first season of hockey, playing on an all-girls team in St. Albert, AB. Annabelle follows in her dad and three older brothers鈥� footsteps, as they all play hockey. She will attend either the OHA Camp in St. Albert, August 3-7, or the Serdachny Power Skating Camp August 24-28.

Annabelle would like to get a scholarship to play NCAA and get a free education to become a doggy doctor, and she would like to play professional hockey because she absolutely loves playing hockey games. Outside of hockey she enjoys swimming, gymnastics, rollerblading in the spring and summer, and dogs of course!

Brooks is 11 years old and in Grade 5 at 脡cole Notre Dame des Monts.

This past season, he played for the 2015 Spartan Elite team, with his team moving up to the 2014 Major division and finished the season as league champions.

At school, he works hard and receives 鈥淓xcellent鈥� in most of his subjects. When he is not playing hockey, he enjoys biking and hanging out with his friends.

Brooks would like to attend the 鈥楢ll Angles Hockey Camp鈥� in Canmore, AB because he wants to continue developing his skills and learn from experienced coaches. Next year, his team will compete again in the 2014 Major division, and he wants to continue improving so he can perform at that level. In the future, he would like to follow in his older brother鈥檚 footsteps and attend Edge School.

Colton, the older brother of Brooks, is a Grade 8 student-athlete at Edge School, who played forward on the Edge School U15 team this past season. Colton will look forward to attending the 鈥楤e A Pro Camp鈥� in Canmore, AB again because of how much it contributed to his development, as last year, it helped him earn the final spot on the U15 team at Edge.

At school, he works hard to maintain an average above 85%, and being a student-athlete has taught him the importance of discipline, organization, and consistency. Outside of hockey, he enjoys spending time hunting with his dad and brother.

In 2021, Brooks and Colton started a hat company where they donated $5 from every hat sale to Canadian charities. Over four years, they have raised more than $3,500.

Brian is an 11-year-old from Victoria, BC, looking to attend the Victoria Royals U13 Summer Development Camp. He wants to work on his skills like skating, shooting, and puck control so he can have a stronger season next year. Brian is a big fan of the Victoria Royals and attends a lot of their games.

His goal is to keep getting better at hockey and play at higher levels, eventually making it to the NHL. If that doesn鈥檛 work out, he would like to be a welder. Outside of hockey he enjoys fishing, skateboarding, playing rugby, hanging out with his friends and pets, and reading.

In hockey I have won awards like 鈥淗eart & Hustle,鈥� 鈥淢ost Passionate,鈥� and 鈥淭op Teammate because he never gives up and he brings a positive attitude to the team. This last season his team donated $500 to the 鈥業sland Kids Cancer Association鈥� to honor a teammate who is battling leukemia.

Cole is 13 years old and played this past season for the Victoria Admirals T2 U15A Rep team. His future hockey and career plans are to be able to continue to play and work his way up to NCAA Division I hockey, while also going to school to further his education. He is interested in a career in Engineering because he is good at math, art and computers. He also would love to be a hockey coach one day, or a sports trainer.

Outside of hockey he plays on his school teams for basketball, volleyball, badminton and track. He likes to play flag football and he has picked up playing golf this year in his offseason. He also enjoys playing acoustic and electric guitar in his down time and plays guitar in the school band.

Cole will be attending the Brandon Wong Summer Hockey Camp in Victoria, BC this August.

Nolan is 10 years old, and plays forward for the U11 Macdonald Silver Knights. He started skating when he was two years old with his dad and grandpa at our local rink in Oak Bluff, Manitoba. At three years old he skated on the big AHL/NHL size ice at a Skate with the Manitoba Moose Day. By the time he was four years old he was on the ice at the Winnipeg Bell MTS IcePlex in the Learn to Skate program.

While hockey is his first passion, he loves to play flag football and soccer in the spring. He enrolls in swimming every summer near their seasonal campsite. This year he enjoyed playing on Starbuck School鈥檚 basketball and badminton teams. The basketball team was a Grade 7-8 team, but was open for Grade 5-6 students to learn the sport. He was the only Grade 5 student on the team.

Nolan also loves board games like chess, cribbage and battleship. He loves the challenge of using his brain to compete at those types of games. Outside of sports he enjoys camping, fishing, bike riding, cooking, reading and playing with friends.

Nolan will attend the RINK U13 EDGE Power Skating Camp in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Ten-year-old Quinn spent the past hockey season with the Victoria Reign U11 Female development team.

Quinn likes to ski and play co-ed field and box lacrosse for Juan de Fuca. She is in French immersion at Millstream Elementary, where she does very well in school. She has played for all her school’s sports teams, volunteers for lots of clubs and committees, is a lunch monitor, a peer helper, in the Leadership Program and a member of the Social Justice Group. She is a graduate of the Kindness Ninja Program and is a Kindness Sensei.

Quinn was recently selected to be a delegate at the Climate Action Youth Forum held in Victoria. She has an older sister, Avalon, an older brother named Lincoln. and a boxer dog named Foster and an orange cat named Rosie.

She will be attending the girls Only Shawnigan Lake School Ice Hockey camp, at Shawnigan Lake School.

Mack鈥檚 future hockey goals are to play in the 黑料不打烊 for Okanagan Hockey Academy, play in the NCAA, and then he and Dad battle whether he will play for the Pittsburgh Penguins or Vancouver Canucks.

Outside of hockey, Mack loves all sports. In the winter he is busy with hockey but is involved with his school鈥檚 cross country running club and likes to ski. Spring is busy for him as he juggles playing on his spring hockey team two and a half hours away, along with baseball, soccer, and basketball. Summer, he enjoys golfing, fishing, mountain biking, and hiking. Outside of sports Mack is proud of his role of big brother to his little sister Maggie, he drags her around teaching her all the sports that he loves.

Mack is a good student at school and he has begun French immersion this year and his teachers describe him as a leader in the classroom. Mack鈥檚 spring hockey team won three of the four tournaments they participated in last spring, where he played a big role on the top defensive pairing. He has earned countless MVP awards with both his winter team in Fernie, and spring team in Lethbridge. His proudest moment was being named Assistant Captain last year on his spring team.

鈥淥ur family is incredibly grateful for Mack to have been chosen as one of the recipients of the 2025 Tyson Giuriato scholarship. Mack will travel to Penticton this summer to participate in the U11 Elite Camp instructed by Cam Barker where he will continue to develop his skills and further embrace his love for the game of hockey. As Canucks fans ourselves, we couldn鈥檛 feel more honoured to be a part of Tysons鈥檚 legacy.

Danil started playing hockey seven years ago when he was five years old after watching the Winnipeg Jets and knowing hockey was his destiny.

Originally from Moldova, Danil can speak Russian, English, and a bit of German. He runs for his school, and won U13AA Provincials last year with his team, plays Legos, rollerblades and plays chess.

鈥淲inning a scholarship means a lot for Danil. This scholarship means he will be able to pursue his passion, his dream of playing hockey! Thank you for the opportunity!鈥�

Danil will be attending a RINK Winnipeg Hockey Camp.

A 14-year-old from Kelowna, BC, Jessie will be attending the BC Hockey U18 Female Main Camp.

Some of the things she likes to do when she is not playing hockey are to play basketball and volleyball. She likes mountain biking with her family and hiking and camping with family friends. She likes to play cards, chess and do puzzles with her grandparents, making bracelets and jewellery with her sister, watching movies and cuddling with her boxer dog Daisy.

Jessie was named assistant captain on her central Okanagan U15 zone hockey team and was a really good leader in the way she played on the ice and the way she supported her teammates off and on the ice. She got a lot of assists on her team, a team that fought hard and battled through every game during the provincial tournament this year in Richmond. It was tough but she is super proud that they won U15 provincials this year in Richmond!

During basketball season this year, she played up on the senior team as a grade 9 and was a starter.聽 Her team made it to provincials to represent their high school OKM. Jessie was able to manage and maintain being a two-sport athlete this season and managed to keep a good report card with high marks despite missing school for her athletics.

This is important to me because hockey is a very expensive sport for families and this gives me an extra opportunity to extend my development in hockey. A 10-year-old from Victoria, BC, Ryker is a dedicated rep goalie with the U11 Juan de Fuca Grizzlies. He goes to games or watches on TV whenever he can. He collects cards and any memorabilia, constantly checks on stats, and can鈥檛 seem to get enough hockey in his life.

Aside from hockey his other interests are mostly sports-related such as baseball, basketball, soccer, track and field and football, but he also enjoys cooking. Ryker umpires in his community little league and will be taking a referee course. His favourite grade 5 subjects this year were social studies and science.

This summer Ryker will use his scholarship to attend 鈥楾he Goalie Group.鈥� It is a well-known goalie development group and they have a camp coming to Victoria.

鈥淭his summer, it is a big dream of mine to attend a really great hockey camp but I really wished to try one that is specifically geared to goalie training before starting the U13 season so I start it off prepared and confident,鈥� said Ryker Dunkley. 鈥淭hanks so much to Tyson Giuriato鈥檚 hockey camp scholarship, I feel so lucky to say that I get to do this goalie camp this summer in August! Drew, now 12, started playing hockey when he was three years old. He would love to one day play in the NHL but is currently working towards playing for his U13 zone team, and eventually for Okanagan Hockey Academy (OHA). Away from the rink Drew plays basketball, golf, cross-country and mountain biking.

Drew is looking to attend the 鈥榃histler Super Camp,鈥� having being inspired by social media sensation Pavel Barber and his skill set.

At seven years old Londyn Sheehan played her first year of U9 hockey this season. The Beaumont, AB product won three Heart-and-Hustle Awards and a Focus Award with her team this season. At her elementary school she received the 鈥楨agle Award鈥� (Enthusiastic, Attitude, Good Hearted, Loyal, Earnest) for her class.

Outside of playing hockey, Londyn enjoys swimming, art, music, playing outside and camping with her family.

Londyn will attend the 鈥楬igh Tempo U9 Girls Hockey Camp鈥� in Edmonton, AB to improve her skating and overall abilities.

“I am so happy and thankful to win this scholarship! I am excited to get on the ice this summer and get better at hockey because I love playing,” said Londyn Sheehan.

Oliver Taylor is a 11-year-old from Comox Valley, BC. Oliver currently plays on the Comox Valley Rep (U11 Strathcona Bears) team but hopes to one day be in the NHL. When he is older, he plans for his friends and him to have an awesome gaming company that they will create and run together.

Oliver is registered for the five days 鈥楽hawnigan Lake Hockey Camp in August. He loves to grow his skills and my knowledge for the game because it helps him to become a better hockey player. It also means he gets to be out on the ice more doing what he loves.

Away from the rink Oliver played baseball the last 2 years and loved it but gave it up this past spring, allowing him to play even more hockey. One of his passions is to be a good drawer. He also loves building things with Lego or things He is learning to play the piano because he loves music and his favourite song to play right now is 鈥楽even Nation Army鈥� by 鈥楾he White Stripes鈥� because it is also one of his hockey pump up songs.

“I am very grateful to have been chosen to receive the scholarship in Tysons Memory鈥�, said Oliver Taylor. 鈥淲ithout this I wouldn’t be able to attend this hockey camp and I am so so so excited that I now will be able to go to it because of the kindness of the people who picked me. Thank you very much.”

Carson Watrich lives in Smithers, BC. He is 12 years old and has been playing hockey since he was 6 with the Smithers Minor Hockey Association.

Since he was 11-month-old Carson has faced significant obstacles that held him back physically and required dedication, time and medical treatment. But he has been working hard year-round to improve his leg strength so he can be successful. For the 2023-2024 season, he made the SMHA鈥檚 U13 Rep team and was switched from defence to forward because of how fast his skating is now. He continues to work hard on and off the ice to get stronger and develop his skills.

His favourite subjects are math and science and he received Top French Student in his class the last three years and got first place in the Geo Challenge in Grade 7 this year. He aspires to be a Geologist after high school. He play鈥檚 flag football in the spring and golf as long as there is no snow on the ground. He rides his bike the 7km to town and back to do these things to keep his legs strong. He does track and field in school and competes in high jump, ball throw and the 100m and 200m dash. His other interests include reading, puzzles, trivia, and going fishing with his friends.

This summer Carson plans to attend the Okanagan Hockey School’s U15 Contact Camp in Edmonton, Alberta from July 29 – August 2nd.

It feels good knowing that the cost is covered for my parents since they pay for so much for my sisters and I. I am motivated to work hard and do a good job to prove that I am deserving of being awarded this scholarship. Thank you very much,鈥� said Carson.

Lily Wright has loved playing hockey since she was five years old. Before that her passion for skating started at 3 years old when she wanted to spend every evening after daycare at the outdoor rink in Alberta.

She loves watching the Calgary Flames with her dad and the Vancouver Canucks with her papa. She was very excited to hear the development of the PWHL and hopes it moves out west so she can watch some live games. Outside of hockey Lily enjoys other sports, playing with her friends and pets. She has recently developed a love for reading.

Lily will attend the 鈥楬eath Dennison Skills and Drills鈥� camp in Parksville, BC August 12-16, 2024.

Since Lily started playing at five years old, she has loved it. I have never had to drag her out of bed at 5am. She has always been excited and ready to play!鈥�

On June 24, 2023 10 year olds Cameron, Hayes, Liam, Roland, and Tyson’s nephew Colton, eleven, hosted a ball hockey bonanza to celebrate their birthdays. Rather than asking the roughly 40 people in attendance for gifts, many of which were teammates of the boys during the 2022/23 season, they collected donations on behalf of the Tyson Giuriato Hockey Camp Scholarship.

Eight-year old Jaedynn Dewitt will be attending the U9 development camp offered at RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna in the middle of July, in order to become a better skater and work on how to shot and pass properly. Jaedynn really love鈥檚 hockey and would one day like to attend RHA Kelowna or OHA to improve her chances of getting a scholarship to a university to play hockey.

This year was only her second year playing hockey but last season at the year-end tournament her team went to Richmond, BC where she received Player of the Game and had 12 goals in the tournament.

In her free time Jaedynn loves playing hockey on the fake ice area her dad built, playing softball, going swimming and boating at the lake and camping.

Grande Prairie, AB鈥檚 Bentley Hanson played this season for the Grande Prairie U13 Female A team and will be attending the Power Plus all-day Female Camp at the end of August to improve her skills ahead of her U15 AA Female tryouts in September. Bentley鈥檚 hockey goals are to get a university scholarship, play university hockey and get a degree.

Outside of hockey she enjoys hanging out with friends, going camping, reading and track-and-field. Her Brother Landon has played in the 黑料不打烊 the last four years and one day Bentley would like to as well.

Nine-year old Tyson Kozyn, will be attending the Silver Totems Hockey Club Camp. This past season was Tyson鈥檚 first year of hockey. He plans to play another full year of house and then try out for the Strathcona Bears rep team in his community. Outside of hockey, Tyson loves soccer, math, school, going to the lacrosse box close to his house with his friends, and playing road hockey.

鈥淎thletically I am so proud that I stepped into a sport I had never played and had confidence to get on the ice. I think this opportunity is very amazing and I am so thankful to be able to apply and win this scholarship. I think it鈥檚 cool that my name is also Tyson,鈥� added Tyson Kozyn.

Ari Stamhuis is 10 years old and just completed his second year of rep hockey on the JDF Grizzlies U11A team. His team had a great season winning three silver and one bronze medal in four tournaments. Ari developed new leadership skills by being a veteran on the team and being honoured with the 鈥淎鈥� on his jersey.

This season, his favourite hockey experience was when his team competed at an outdoor tournament in Apex, Penticton. This spring Ari will be playing on the 2011 Junior Sea Devils team. His goal for the next hockey season is to be able to make the Rep A team for the JDF Grizzlies U13 division.

Other than hockey, he currently swims competitively for Island Swimming, recently competing at the Vancouver Island Regional Championship where he won one gold, one silver and one bronze medal with personal best times in all his events.

Ari would love to one day either play in the NHL or compete at the Olympics. He is currently in grade 5 at Victor Brodeur, a French school in Esquimalt, and is fluent in both French and English. Math and Physical Education are his two favorite subjects at school.

In his spare time, he loves playing with his two dogs, his friends, go camping with his family, tennis and playing video games. This summer he will be competing in his first triathlon.

Ari will be putting his scholarship towards Brandon Wong鈥檚 summer hockey Camp in August. Ari would like to thank the Giuriato family for their support and feels really honoured to receive this scholarship.

Logan Lemaigre lives in Red Deer, AB and plays hockey with Red Deer Minor Hockey in the U15 division. He started playing pond hockey when he was 8 years old and moved up to RDMH when he was 10 years old when he decided to be a full-time goalie.

Logan is indigenous and his home reserve is Janvier about 1.5 hours outside of Fort McMurray, AB. Logan has lived in Red Deer for the past eight years where he was introduced to hockey.

Hockey has taught him many valuable lessons in life other than just new hockey skills. His goal is to try out for their local completive hockey league in the upcoming season. His end goal would be to try out for a position in the Western Hockey League.

Logan has a local goalie instructor that has played in the WHL that runs goalie camps and he will attend CAGE for training this upcoming year.

Outside of hockey his interests include cultural activities that he attends as well as mountain biking, swimming, fishing and pretty much any sport that鈥檚 out there. This year he volunteered for his younger brothers U11 team and helped out with their young goalie with some basic skills.

Reese Welters will once again be attending the Len Barrie Hockey College this summer. Reese loves this camp for multiple reasons including the fact Coach Len has so many fun drills. Her favorite was when he used a radar gun to test how fast their shots could go. The Edmonton Oilers are her favorite team and last year Reese got to meet Tyson Barrie.

This year Reese made the U11 Rep team and wants to go to camp before tryouts next season as she really wants to make U13 Rep. Her future hockey plans are to hopefully be one of the first female hockey players in the NHL that plays defense but if that can鈥檛 happen, she would like to play for Team Canada in the Olympics.

When Reese grows up if she doesn鈥檛 make it into the NHL then she plans to be a marine biologist. In her free time, she enjoys fishing, fastball and reading.

Reese added she is 鈥渋s excited and grateful to have been awarded this scholarship.鈥�

Tyson joined the 黑料不打烊 in 2013 and served as the Director of Media and Communications until he sadly passed away in August 2020. To honour Tyson鈥檚 passion for and contributions to the game of hockey, his family and the 黑料不打烊 community came together to offer families the ability to have their child (aged 7-14) attend a summer hockey camp of their choice. The Tyson Giuriato Hockey Camp Scholarship makes this possible by paying for one hockey camp registration for the successful applicants.

Nine-year old Hudson Crocker began skating when he was three, followed by hockey at five. Hudson spent the past season playing for the U11A Sooke Thunderbirds and is playing spring hockey for the Hockey Evolution Tigers. Hudson, who also excels at, baseball would like to one day play for the Victoria Grizzlies and eventually the Chicago Blackhawks.

Hudson鈥檚 scholarship will go towards the 鈥楨dges on Ice鈥� camp with Blaine Redmond. 鈥淚t means the world to Hudson and our family to receive this scholarship.聽 He is incredibly proud and honoured to be included in Tyson鈥檚 legacy,鈥� added his mom Brianne Crocker.

Cadence Mamakeesic, who is from Victoria, BC, just completed his first season of hockey and his dream is to play in the NHL. Cadence is on the autism spectrum, and hockey has been the only thing that he has flourished in and loved to do. Hockey has given him drive, a goal, confidence, friends and has been the key component in his success in emotional development and socialization.

Cadence鈥檚 scholarship will go towards the 鈥楲esley Global Sports Summer Camp鈥�. 鈥淗e was really excited, it鈥檚 pretty cool to win something,鈥� added his mom Alicia Hearse.

10-year old Owen Powell is from Victoria, BC and spent this past season playing for the U11 B2 Grizzlies. Owen, who started playing hockey when he was five years old, spends his spare time cooking, gardening, BMXing, and playing ball hockey and guitar, and would like to one day continue his hockey career at the junior and college levels.

Owen鈥檚 scholarship will go towards the Brandon Wong camp. 鈥淚t鈥檚 so exciting, we were quite proud of him,鈥� added his mom April Powell.

Kale and Luke Pratte are brothers from Moose Jaw, SK. Kale spent the 2021/22 season playing in the 黑料不打烊 for Prairie Hockey Academy鈥檚 U15 Prep team, while Luke was the captain of his U13AA team. The two brothers are avid baseball players and enjoy the outdoors, swimming, fishing, hunting, bike riding, camping and skiing.

The Pratte brother鈥檚 scholarship will go towards the Elite 6 Week Prairie Hockey Academy camp in Caronport, SK, a camp which their older brother has done before. As this camp is close to home and offered during the day, it allows them to continue their baseball in the evenings.

Layla Silakiewicz started skating when she was just three and then originally started playing ringette in kindergarten. She is currently playing for the Sherwood Park Ringette Association

U14AA POWER and qualified for Western Canadian National Ringette Championship. On December 30, 2021 Layla tried out for her first hockey team, officially making the Edmonton U15 Royals Spring Hockey Team on February 21, 2022.

Layla鈥檚 scholarship will go towards the Okanagan Hockey Academy U15 Speed, Skills & Tactics with Ryan Wilkinson. 鈥淟ayla was surprised, happy, and shocked when she found out she won. I was all of those and grateful,鈥� said her mom Katie Berghofer.
