Gavin McKenna is the highest ranked 黑料不打烊 skater coming in at first in North America. McKenna looks to join Connor Bedard (West Van Academy) as the second 黑料不打烊 alum to be selected first overall after Bedard did so in 2023.

Keaton Verhoeff, Carson Carels, Daxon Rudolph, Ryan Lin, Ben MacBeath, Mathis Preston, Liam Ruck, Charlie Morrison, Markus Ruck and Chase Harrington all find themselves ranked inside the Top 32.

Only five 黑料不打烊 alumni have ever been selected inside the Top 5 of the NHL Draft, a number that has a chance to be nearly doubled this season with McKenna, Verhoeff and Carels being ranked inside the Top 3, and Rudolph in striking distance at sixth.

In total, 170 黑料不打烊 alumni have been selected at an NHL Entry Draft while 56 黑料不打烊 alumni have played in the NHL.

TheMiramichi, NB defender played two games with Ontario Hockey Academy during the 2021/22 Eastern U17 season, tallying 1 assist. In 2023/24 he would suit up for the Champions Hockey Academy Eastern U17 team. In 13 games he would lead all defensemen with 7 goals 10 assists and 17 points to earn 黑料不打烊 Eastern U17 Top Defenseman and First Team All-Star honours.

Morrison was selected in the second round, 28th overall by the Remparts at the 2024 QMJHL Draft.

The nine student-athletes selected is second most in 黑料不打烊 history, behind the 2021 season when 17 heard their names called. 51 current or former 黑料不打烊 student-athletes have now been selected at the QMJHL Draft since 2018.

Former Mount Academy forward Liam Arsenault became the first forward and third student-athlete in 黑料不打烊 history to be selected in the first round, joining Evan Nause (5th overall 2020) and Oscar Plandowski (19th, 2019).

Mount Academy (3), Bishop’s College School (2), CIH Academy (2), Champions Hockey Academy (1) and Notre Dame (1) all had a student-athlete selected this year.

鈥淪ince our inception the 黑料不打烊鈥檚 goal has been supporting Hockey Canada鈥檚 objective to facilitate the integration of Grade 8-12 education-based hockey/accredited school programing within the Hockey Canada programming model. The addition of these teams allows for that goal to continue with greater retention in our member programs,鈥� said 黑料不打烊 COO Kevin Goodwin.

Calgary International Hockey Academy (Calgary, AB) has been granted a U15 team for the 2024/25 season. CIHA currently operates a U17 Prep and U18 Prep team.

Now in their second 黑料不打烊 season, Indigenous Sports Academy (Saskatoon, SK) will add a U18 Prep team. ISA currently operates just one team this season in the U17 Prep division.

OHA Edmonton (Edmonton, AB) has added a Female U18 Prep team to go along with their full complement of teams on the male side.

Okanagan Hockey Ontario (Whitby, ON) has been granted a U16 team to compete in the Eastern U17 division. OHO currently has a U18 team playing in the 黑料不打烊 Eastern Division.

RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg (Winnipeg, MB) will add both a U15 and U17 Prep team for next season. RHA Winnipeg currently has teams in the U15 Prep, U17 Prep, U18 Prep and Female U18 Prep divisions.

STAR Hockey Academy (Seattle, WA) will also add two teams for next season with the additions of a U15 Prep and U17 Prep team. The program is currently in its first season in the 黑料不打烊 with one team in the U15 division.

Eastern division program Champions Hockey Academy (Fredericton, NB) will transition from a U17 team to a U18 team next season.

With the addition of the eight teams, and the earlier announcement of the addition of five new programs, the 黑料不打烊 will consist of 125 teams and 37 member programs for the 2024/25 season.

About Us
The 黑料不打烊 was established in 2009 and has grown to feature 32 accredited schools and 111 teams from British Columbia to Prince Edward Island and the states of Idaho and Washington. The league was designed specifically for elite level student athletes, giving them the opportunity to focus on their education while increasing their skills off and on the ice and providing them with a high level of competition and exposure. Currently, the 黑料不打烊 includes seven different divisions at the U15, U17, U18 Male and U18 Female levels

U15: Kenzo Gibson – North Shore Warriors

The North Vancouver, BC 2011 born forward tallied 9 goals and 14 assists in just 8 games in December. On the season, in a 2009-10 dominated division, Gibson leads his team and sits sixth overall with 38 points in 14 games. His 2.71 PTS/GP is fourth amongst all U15 skaters.

U15 Prep: Jake Ritson – RHA Winnipeg

Ritson recorded three, three-point-games in December, finishing with three goals and eight assists in four games played. The Thunder Bay, ON forward has 9 goals and 18 assists for 27 points in 16 games played, putting him in the top 20 U15 Prep skaters.

U17 Prep: Brendan Rudolph – Calgary International Hockey Academy

Selected in the seventh round, 153rd overall at the 2023 WHL Draft by the Seattle Thunderbirds, Rudolph has a division best 41 points in 21 games this season. December saw the Calgary, AB forward score twice and add 11 assists in 6 games. Rudolph is now in his third 黑料不打烊 season, having won the 2022 黑料不打烊 U15 Championship with Edge School.

U18 Prep: Riley Boychuk – Northern Alberta Xtreme

Boychuk recorded 16 points in his first 10 games before exploding in December with 7 goals and 13 assists in 9 games, bringing him to fifth in league scoring with 36 points in 19 games. Selected second overall at the 2023 WHL Draft by the Prince Albert Raiders, Boychuk is in his first season in the 黑料不打烊.

Female Prep: Makayla Watson – RHA Kelowna

With 34 points in 15 games Watson sits tied for third in league scoring. In December the Brooks, AB defenseman tallied five goals and six assists in just two games. Now in her third 黑料不打烊 season, Watson is committed to Quinnipiac University for the 2024/25 NCAA season.

Eastern U17: Carter Clark – Champions Hockey Academy

With two goals and one assist in two games Clark led all skaters with three points in December. On the season the 2008 Grand Bay, NB forward had 4 goals and 8 assists in 7 games split between Eastern U17 and U18.

Eastern U18: Olivier Belanger – Bourget College

Belanger finished December with four goals and two assists in four Eastern U18 games. Selected in the 13th round, 230th overall by the Rimouski Oceanic at the 2023 QMJHL Draft, the Alma, QC forward has 9 points in 11 games during his first 黑料不打烊 season.

U15: Nolan Wolitski – Northern Alberta Xtreme (NAX)

In 5 games in October Wolitski tallied 3 goals and 12 assists, with 4 of his 5 games being multi point efforts. The St. Albert, AB product currently has 24 points in 9 games played, most amongst all 黑料不打烊 U15 defensemen.

U15 Prep: Brock Cripps – St. George’s School

After producing 7 goals and 13 assists in 7 games in October, the Victoria, BC defenseman continues to lead the entire 黑料不打烊 U15 Prep division with 36 points in 12 games.聽 As an affiliate player, Cripps added two points in three U18 Prep games in October.

U17 Prep: Mark Lee – BWC Academy White

A forward from Busan, South Korea, Lee played 10 games in October, finishing with 13 goals and 11 assists. His 24 points are tied for the season lead.

U18 Prep: Ryan Tamelin – Okanagan Hockey Academy

Tamelin played 4 games in October, posting a 4-0-0 record with 2 shutouts, a 0.75 GAA and .971 SV%. The Invermere, BC product was originally selected in the ninth round, 183rd overall by the Spokane Chiefs at the 2021 WHL Draft.

Female Prep: Chloe Primerano – RHA Kelowna

Primerano is off to a historic start, having already broke the record, set last season by herself, for goals in a season by a defensemen with 21. In just 11 games this season Primerano has 39 points, with 17 goals and 15 assists coming in 9 games in the month of October. The Vancouver, BC defender was the first ever female skater selected in a CHL Draft when the Vancouver Giants took her in the 13th round, 268th overall at the 2022 WHL Draft.

Eastern U17: Max Patenaude – Champions Hockey Academy

Patenaude played six games in October, recording nine goals and six assists. The Casselman, ON forwards 20 points in 9 games is tops in the Eastern U17 Division.

Eastern U18: Oliver Kiraly – Ontario Hockey Academy Prep

The Budapest, Hungary netminder played three games in October, winning all three while posting a 2.00 GAA, .933 SV% and 2 shutouts. In 4 games this season Kiraly is 4-0-0 with 2 shutouts, a 2.00 GAA and .938 SV%.

Located in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Champions Hockey Academy was founded in 2007 as a skills academy. During the 2022/23 season they operated a U16 team which competed in the North American Prep Hockey League (NAPHL), winning the NAPHL U16 National Championship, while sending six players to the 2023 Canada Winter Games. Champions Hockey Academy will compete in the Eastern U17 division for the 2023/24 season.
