Calvert joined Prairie Hockey Academy in 2017/18, tallying 53 points in 40 U15 Prep games. The following season Prairie would join the ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ at the U16 Prep division. Calvert would lead his team in goals (24) while finishing second in points (41) in 35 games.

The Moose Jaw, SK forward would play five seasons in the WHL with his hometown Warriors, recording 220 points in 237 games while winning a WHL Championship during the 2023/24 season.

Calvert would split the 2024/25 season between the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in the AHL, and the Wheeling Nailers of the ECHL. He would join Wilkes-Barre/Scranton full time in 2025/26, posting 38 points in 70 games.

Fink Signs NHL Contract /fink-signs-nhl-contract/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=fink-signs-nhl-contract Tue, 14 Apr 2026 22:01:06 +0000 /?p=8830 Former Northern Alberta Xtreme (NAX) student-athlete Aidan Fink has signed an NHL Entry Level Contract with the Nashville Predators.

Fink joined NAX for the 2019/20 ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ U16 Prep season, tallying 44 points in 27 games to finish third in team scoring. The following U18 Prep season he would tally three points in three games with NAX.

The Calgary, AB forward joined the Brooks Bandits for the 2021/22 AJHL season, posting 53 points in 60 regular season games and an additional 10 points in 13 playoff games as Brooks took home the 2021/22 AJHL Championship.

2022/23 was a breakout year for Fink as he led the AJHL with 97 points, earning AJHL (South) All-Star, AJHL Top Forward, AJHL MVP, CJHL Top Forward, and CJHL MVP honours. He would once again help Brooks win an AJHL Championship, while leading the World Junior A Challenge with 7 assists and 12 points for Team Canada West, earning WJAC All-Star Team honours.

At the conclusion of the season the Predators selected Fink with in the seventh round, 218th overall at the 2023 NHL Entry Draft.

Fink would join Penn State University in 2023/24 as an NCAA Freshman. That season he posted 34 points in 34 games, grabbing NCAA (B1G) All-Rookie Team honours while being named a Hobey Baker Memorial Award Nominee. In 2024/25 he would be named a Hobey Baker Award Finalist, an NCAA (B1G) First Team All-Star, a NCAA (USCHO) Third Team All-Star, and a NCAA (West) Second Team All-American after finishing first on his team and fourth in the NCAA with 53 points in 40 games.

This past season Fink recorded 38 points in 30 games with Penn State. He would also represent the U.S. Collegiate Selects at the historic Spengler Cup, leading the tournament with eight points and being named to the Spengler Cup All-Star team.

After his NCAA season ended, Fink joined the Predators AHL affiliate, the Milwaukee Admirals, and has since totaled 10 points in 6 AHL games.

The Red Deer, AB defenseman spent the 2021/22 ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ U18 Prep season with Yale, tallying 21 points in 35 games.

Undrafted to the WHL, Christensen joined the Prince Albert Raiders for the 2022/23 season, tallying 9 points in 64 games. He would have a breakout season in 2023/24, posting 45 points in 68 games, earning WHL (East) Second All-Star Team honours.

Last season Christensen would be named captain and lead all WHL defensemen with 22 goals, finishing the season with 46 points in 68 games. This season Christensen tallied 48 points in 63 regular season games and currently has 1 point in 5 playoff games as the number one seed Raiders have advanced to the second round.

Buhr has signed an NHL Entry level deal with the Toronto Maple Leafs after spending the last four seasons in the NCAA. The North Vancouver, BC forward tallied 88 points in 116 NCAA games, including 36 in 35 this past season with Union College. Buhr has since joined the Toronto Marlies, playing two AHL games and recording one assist. He spent the 2017/18 U16 Prep season with the North Shore Warriors, finishing with 36 points in 35 games. In 2019/20 he would return to North Shore and the ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ, finishing second on his U18 Prep team and fifth in the league with 71 points in 34 games.

Slipec played two season for Delta Hockey Academy before joining North Shore for two more seasons in the ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ. The White Rock, BC forward spent the last four seasons with the University of Nebraska-Omaha, tallying 24 points in 124 NCAA games. Slipec has since signed in the ECHL and played one game with the Adirondack Thunder.

Congratulations to our former U18 Prep Head Coach, Evan McFeeters, who has been named Roving Minor League Coach with the Pittsburgh Penguins

As part of his new role, McFeeters will be a member of the Penguins’ player development department, supporting Ryan Papaioannou’s coaching staff with the Wheeling Nailers (ECHL) as well as Kirk McDonald’s staff with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins (AHL). He will also assist the player development staff with the on and off the ice development of all prospects and players within the Penguins’ organization.

We couldn’t be more proud to see Evan’s passion for development recognized at the highest level. His impact on our athletes has been incredible, and now he’ll bring that same energy to developing future Penguins.

The Abbotsford, BC forward joined Yale for the 2018/19 U15 Prep season, tallying 31 points in 26 games. At the conclusion of the season the Kooteny Ice (now the Wenatchee Wild) would select Edwards in the sixth round, 127th overall at the 2019 WHL Draft.

Edwards would return to Yale for the 2019/20 U18 Prep season where he recorded 14 goals and 15 assists in 36 games. The following U18 Prep season he would post five points in five games.

In 2021/22 he would make the jump to the WHL, starting the season with the Winnipeg Ice before joining the Lethbridge Hurricanes. Edwards would spend the following three seasons with the Hurricanes, breaking out ion 2023/24 with 70 points in 66 games. This past season he would lead his team with 77 points in 65 WHL games.

Davis Signs Pro Contract /davis-signs-pro-contract/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=davis-signs-pro-contract Mon, 28 Apr 2025 18:53:57 +0000 /?p=7297 Former Edge School student-athlete Matt Davis has signed an AHL Contract with the San Jose Barracuda for the 2025/26 season.

The Calgary, AB netminder spent the 2017/18 season in the ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ with the Edge U18 Prep team going 11-6-0 with a .918 SV%, 2.31 GAA and 3 shutouts.

He would play two seasons in the AJHL before heading to the NCAA with the University of Denver. In four NCAA seasons he would post a 63-17-4 record with 4 shutouts, a 2.13 GAA and .921 SV% while winning NCAA Championships in 2022 and 2024.

Sward Signs AHL Deal /sward-signs-ahl-deal/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=sward-signs-ahl-deal Tue, 15 Oct 2024 22:14:50 +0000 /?p=6552 Former Yale Hockey Academy defenseman Graham Sward has signed an AHL Contract with the Manitoba Moose.

The Abbotsford, BC product spent two seasons in the ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ with Yale’s U15 Prep team. During the 2016/17 season he would tally 9 points in 30 games. The following campaign Sward finished with 18 points in 26 games, leading to the Spokane Chiefs selecting him in the first round, 17th overall at the 2018 WHL Draft.

Sward joined the Chiefs in 2019/20, playing in 55 games and recording 17 points. The following year he would play in just 11 games but the Nashville Predators would select him in the fifth round, 146th overall at the 2022 NHL Draft.

He would begin the 2022/23 season with the Chiefs, playing eight games with the team before being moved to the Winnipeg Ice. Sward would finish the season with 33 points in 52 games with the Ice, adding 12 more points in 19 playoff games.

This past season Sward had 15 goals and 66 assists in 66 games with the Wenatchee Wild, earning him WHL (US) First All-Star Team honours.

The Moose have assigned Sward to the ECHL with the Norfolk Admirals to begin the 2024/25 season.

Berge, Parsons Sign AHL Deals /berge-parsons-sign-ahl-deals/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=berge-parsons-sign-ahl-deals Mon, 07 Oct 2024 17:21:37 +0000 /?p=6520 Former ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ student-athletes Parker Berge and Rhett Parsons have signed AHL Contracts for the 2024/25 season.

Selected in the eighth round, 157th overall at the 2018 WHL Draft by the Regina Pats, Berge joined the Northern Alberta Xtreme for the 2019/20 season. In 36 games the Edmonton, AB defenseman would record 7 goals and 21 assists. Berge would spend the following three-and-a-half seasons with the Pats, tallying 15 goals and 60 assists in 181 games. During the 2023/24 season he would be traded to the Everett Silvertips, finishing his WHL career with them by tallying 3 goals and 22 assists in 30 games.

Berge has signed with the Ontario Reign for the 2024/25 AHL season.

Parsons was selected in the fifth round, 99th overall by the Medicine Hat Tigers at the 2018 WHL Draft. The Cremona, AB defender joined Edge School for the 2018/19 U16 Prep season, recording 8 goals and 20 assists in 35 games. The following U18 Prep campaign he would have 6 goals and 21 assists in 32 games. Parsons would join the Tigers for the 2020/21 season, spending all four of his WHL seasons with the club. In 219 WHL games he would finish with 17 goals and 35 assists.

Parsons has signed with the Toronto Marlies ahead of the 2024/25 AHL season.
