Trotter, 19, has attended Shawnigan Lake School the past three seasons, most recently posting a 11-7-1 record with a 2.57 goals-against average and a .905 save-percentage in 19 appearances with their U18 Prep team during the 2019-20 season.

During the 2018-19 season, the Victoria, B.C. product led the 黑料不打烊鈥檚 Midget Varsity Division in goals-against average (1.66) and save-percentage (.935) while helping his team capture the 2019 黑料不打烊 Midget Varsity Division Championship for the second consecutive year.

Much like the 2018-19 season, Trotter led all goaltenders during the 2017-18 Midget Varsity Division season in goals-against average (1.11) and save-percentage (.951) en route to being named the 2018 Midget Varsity Division Top Goaltender.
